Job Overview

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and multilingual Import and Export Coordinator to oversee our international supply chain. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing imports from Turkey and China, coordinating with overseas suppliers, handling shipping and customs processes, and supporting our sales and installation operations in the UK. This is a skilled role that requires commercial awareness, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities in Turkish and/or Chinese as well as English.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• International Supply Chain Management: Manage the end-to-end import process of shelving systems from Turkey and China, ensuring timely and compliant delivery from suppliers to UK clients.
• Supplier Liaison and Negotiation: Communicate and negotiate with overseas manufacturers, exporters, and shipping agents in Turkish, Chinese, and English to confirm orders, arrange shipments, resolve quality issues, and maintain positive business relationships.
• Shipping and Logistics: Coordinate freight forwarding, oversee customs clearance, and ensure compliance with UK import regulations and customs duties.
• Documentation and Compliance: Prepare, review, and maintain all import/export documentation, including invoices, shipping manifests, and customs declarations for goods from multiple countries.
• Sales and Installation Coordination: Support the sales team and director by providing accurate delivery timelines, updating on shipment status, and scheduling product installations at client sites.
• Market and Supplier Research: Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers in Turkey, China, and other regions to expand our product offerings and maintain competitive pricing.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipments, supplier communications, and supply chain performance metrics.

Skills and Experience Required

• Proven experience in international trade, import/export coordination, or supply chain management—preferably with Turkish and/or Chinese suppliers.
• Proficiency in Turkish and/or Chinese (Mandarin) is highly desirable due to the primary languages of our core suppliers.
• Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and familiarity with UK/EU customs and import/export regulations.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems proactively.
